Meet The Team

Charlie S. Yeh, O.D.

Dr. Yeh received the Chelton Scholarship for being top of his class while attending Salus University. He received a duo-bachelor’s degree, one for Vision Science and one for Biology. Dr. Yeh trained at the following locations: Omni Eye Center in New Jersey, Veterans Administration Hospital in Boston, and The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. Dr. Yeh completed further training at the University of Houston School of Optometry for glaucoma treatment.

Prior to relocating to the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Yeh had a practice in Texas which was ranked top 15% in the country for five consecutive years as one of the busiest commercial offices in optometry. By 2011, he decided to sell his practice and move up to the PNW to be close to family.

​

Dr. Yeh has extensive experience in primary eye care, contact lens fitting, and co-management of LASIK and cataract surgery. He monitors patients for cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic and hypertensive retinopathies. In addition to his growing practice in Bellevue, Dr. Yeh volunteers eye care services through the Gift of Sight Program. Dr. Yeh is fluent in Chinese and Taiwanese.

Dr. Yeh enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and fishing during his downtime.

Sophia Chen, O.D.

Dr. Chen graduated with honors from Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, she received her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University on a full academic scholarship. Dr. Chen did her external rotations at several locations, including ocular disease rotation at Omni Eye Center in New Jersey and Manhattan, geriatric rotation at Veterans Administration Hospital in Boston, and pediatrics rotation at the Eye Institute in Philadelphia. She then worked as a contractor optometrist at Naval Health Clinic Hawaii Makalapa on the beautiful Hawaiian Island of Oahu where she also served as a Clinical Instructor for Southern California College of Optometry students.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.

Shahla Kokabiyan, O.D.

Dr. Shahla Kokabiyan was born and raised in Long Island, NY and moved to Washington in 2019. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in psychology, she attended the State University of New York College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2018. Dr. Kokabiyan practiced optometry in the east coast, at Omni Eye Center, Pisacano Eye, and SUNY vision rehabilitation. She completed internships in various modalities and specialties such as vision therapy, pediatrics, dry eye, glaucoma, disease, and primary care. She has spent most of her professional career in private practice.  As an optometrist, she believes in listening to her patients’ needs and providing them with quality eye care.

Dr. Kokabiyan is a member of the American Optometric Association and Optometric Physicians of Washington. Dr. Kokabiyan speaks English and Persian. In her spare time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, spending time with her husband and cooking.
